Top 4 this year.

It can actually happen.

cause Roberto Martinez actually has proper talent to work with and the Everton Spirit.

It can but it won't, there is no way our current squad over a 38 game season will finish above all of RS, Spurs and Arse at the same time. Not a chance. IMHO.

I have a feeling something is going to go pop this season in the league, and not necessarily us getting 4th. Utd are having an awful window, Bale is off, (IMO), Jose might prove the old adage, "never go back", so you never know. On our day, we can beat anyone, we know that, so lets see.

Yeeah mate, it can happen but tis very unlikely. We're in a transition period and it's gonna take time for us to get up and running and at our best under Roberto Martinez. Hopefully the board and the fans just give him time to instil his footballing philosophy, as opposed to getting on his case and inversely affecting the manager, players and team.

So honestly, I foresee Liverpool finishing above us this season, with us like 7th or something. I'm just hoping for some good football, youth integration, bumming the RS in both derbies and perhaps most importantly... a trophy.

If we are talking realism I honestly think we will be lucky to get in the top 10,Baines and Fellani will be sold and unless Martinez gets the full money (about 32million) to reinvest we will have a poorer squad than last year.

You know that do you?

United have finished below 3rd in 21 years. I expect Mourinho picks up his old form at Chelsea. I have no idea what City does with their new manager, but they have talent on the squad. Of these, I can't imagine all three have great league seasons. Wenger's Arsenal will be solid as ever, but look unlikely to finish above 3rd. Spurs could be great, unless we've already seen the best of them. I won't expect anything out of Rodgers' RS until I see it on the table.

Injuries, transfer requests, baby momma drama (John Terry still plays?), and new management fumbles are all reasons to expect something unusual this year. That said, Everton have got a new manager too, so these affect everyone. I'll opine on the Blues' finish after the transfer window closes.

Even if they are both sold, your valuation is even more insulting than Moyes'

Thats the sort of Everton pessimism we know and love ;)

If the league were to start tomorrow I think that a lot of the teams that finished mid table have closed the gap on the four teams chasing 4th place (us, Spurs, Arsenal and RS). We should still finish above them and it could actually work to our favour if the league is a lot tighter and Martinez doesn't play for 1-0 and draws against them like Moyes did. City are nailed on for the league in my eyes - I can't believe more hasn't been made about their signings - all real quality.

I can't understand a lot of people's pessimism. I'm more optimistic for this season than I have been in years.

If Baines & Fellaini aren't sold, we have a far stronger squad than last year.

Even if one of them are sold, we will still be fine.

I've been mega impressed by Martinez in his interviews, his thoughts, his plans and his signings so far.

I think we'll be top 7 this season. Hopefully we can have a good run in the cups too.

I have had this undying belief since his Swansea days that Martinez is the next great manager the one to defy the odds as monumentally as Busby, Shankly and Clough. Realistically this should be a year of transition but when RM snook out and got the super kid from Barca in his first weeks I just thought "it's fookin' on!".

Not expecting it but if he does a 4th or wins something there's part of me that will think "yeh, it was soooo obvious"

This is about the 5th thread on the same subject. Might as well just have one thread, one topic of discussion and call it Everton
