Well it was certainly happening around me when I watched a La Liga game once. Jamo Martinez could be your man to ask, it was more than likely sneakily brought in. The atmosphere was so different though, it was like no one knew a game was going on. Superb though

Amazing when you think of it. You can go and watch Barca for 10, no wonder they 90,000 a match. I went to see a non league team a few years back in the 2nd round of the fa cup and they charged a tenner! There is something wrong in this country is there not?

The Spanish attendances are quite poor these days. The average for the nou camp is or was 61000 per week. Prolly something similar for Madrid.

This. Only alcohol free stuff available inside. I believe you can get beer in German stadiums. What a country.

How do you mean mate? Watching on tv it doesn't tend to generate the same atmosphere, I think it's because the stadiums are more traditional (ie circular, Olympic track) and the fans are further away from the pitch. Would love to go to a la Liga game sometime

I went to watch Valencia play Real Madrid in about 2006 at Valencia. We arrived a little late into the ground, and as we walked up the incredibly steep steps to the very top of the one stand, literally everyone around us was just chatting to each other, basically having a picnic, no one really paying attention to the game (during the game). We sat on benches pretty much, not individual seats if I remember correctly. I mentioned it to someone on here once who totally agreed, as they had had a similar experience, can't remember who. I'm sure it's not like that for every game, could just be certain stands in certain stadiums, but it was a pretty cool atmosphere

Jealous here. I'm desperate to see some La liga. Bilbao is what I'm looking at.

Anyone got any ticket info on Athletic Bilbao?

That is a weird one! That sounds like the atmosphere at a cricket game, but a cricket game does go on all day lol
