There has been a lot of talk about which Real Madrid player we would like if they start to sell, and the Guardian today is claiming that Real have got in touch with numerous Premier League Clubs with a list of 9 players that they are willing to sell. I would like to think that we are one of the clubs they have been in touch with. The players are Gabriel Heinze, Arjen Robben, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Royston Drenthe, Javier Saviola and Mahamadou Diarra. Realistically, I think we would be able to get Saviola and VDV. It says that Real Madrid will want similar fees to what they paid for them, and with VDV only costing Madrid 7 million, I think we would be able to get him for around 5/6 million, which would be an unbelievable signing. Thoughts?

Huntelaar joined Real Madrid in January 2009 for €20 million, rising to a potential €27 million.

They're flogging Mamadou Diarra, having brought in Lassana Diarra who's a lot better in the same role - plus they've got Gago...

Can't see any of them not wanting to play Champs League, but if any of them have half a brain, we must surely be the next best thing assuming they bother to look back at the table over the last few seasons...

Saying that, can only see perhaps Drenthe, Saviola and Diarra not wanting silly wages, but the others may see us as the right place to prove a point about themselves and take a cut.
