If you live in Australia or New Zealand unless you get one with a proper root system and water it all the time you're on a loser...and maybe even then.
30c temps and falling needles means you have to be keen to keep on vacuuming needles. And when you go to throw it out, you have to shovel the needles and as soon as you move it its snowing needles

We get one from our own forest ,we have a small one for the 1st December ( little Xmas ) about a metre high and a larger one for the 24th - because Santa has to have it on the 24th so he can do the rest of the world on the 25th- you must water the tree and check it a few times a day as they can drink a litre easily .Ii you buy one from a street vendor cut off the bottom 15cm and put an aspirin in the water . Merry Xmas to all .

....funny enough, just been to Ikea to pick up one of their real trees for my son’s house. They are £29 with a £20 voucher to spend in the store, but I noticed the tree is smaller than in previous years.

We always have an artificial tree in our house.

Think it's only weird americans that like to reduce the amount of oxygen available for the rest of us.

Real. When I was a kid we had a real tree until one year when I was 9 or 10 when my Dad bought a little weasly artificial one. I was gutted and swore then that when I had my own gaff I'd always have a real one. My youngest (now 32) was only saying last night how he loved going to choose the tree each year (the whole family went together) as it signalled the start of Christmas.

None. They're a right mess. But I certainly wouldn't kill something for a one off decoration .

Before @COYBL25 calls me a miserable old scrooge I will admit to being quite partial to fairy lights.

So long as they don't flash. Can't be doing with that.
