What are people's opinions on Barkley??
Is he ready yet?? Or too early for him yet???

Personally I see him as ACM instead of Cahill. Which to me I would think is a possistion that could be forgiving defensively wise.

Could we carry his inexperience to benefit from his obvious talent, creativity and shots???

Thoughts???

From what i have seen of him he is ready, also i think our team/fans are ready for him. We need a change from the same old faces playing the same stale football.

Contrary to unpopular opinion, his knees will not explode if he plays before he's 25, so yeah I'd really like to see him actually get a game.

Of course it would be foolish to think he should start and finish every single match, but he's got to be ready for more than he's getting now. Which is reserve and youth action coupled with benchwarming.

Moyes has a problem, we have no Europa dead rubbers to give the lads a chance (remember AZ Alkmaar) and having had a run of tough fixtures and picking up few points some of the support and the protesters were upset and getting on players backs before setting foot in the stadium.
Why throw a kid into that? Then the other element say, give Bily a go, he's an international - at least play the guy so he's in the shop window for January.
As it stands now Donovan has come in, so wide right or advanced mid have another player to accomodate - an international - who is a loanee and goes back end of feb.

How many players at aged 18 or even 19 stepped up to prem standard and played every week? The last one I remember was Owen. Rooney never did it. The West Ham boys were all 20 plus. Keepers don't count. Kid before Owen..... ???? Giggs maybe.

I think he should be starting a few more games now. AND... not get played out of position constantly. Put the boy in midfield and let him grow into the position he is best at instead of trying to constantly play him out of position. It's definitely good for him to learn how to play all over the pitch and I'd like to see him get a few run outs on the wing, but I think the majority of his games should be played in the role he is best at. I'd rather have a 10/10 attacking midfielder than a jack-of-all-trades 8/10 player.

Phil jones at united is without doubt having an outstanding season and he is only 19, if i remember correctly he came from blackburn?? where he would have obviously been playing first team footballl.....in my opinon if your good enough your old enough.

Would love to see him in his proper position central midfield - the lad is class - would cheer me up no end if he played today - but we all know its not going to happen -sitting on subs bench if he is lucky.

Played centre half for half a season, then a full season at defensive mid under big Sam and kean before going to united.

He's ready, and would be perfect for the attacking midfield role. His vision, strength, ability to dance round players, pass, shoot, and no doubt play a through ball once in a while *gasps* means he's better than most of the players we currently have at the club. For the attacking mid position, its an absolute no brainer that he'd be better than Cahill there. Cahill offers nothing apart from arriving late for headers, which he hasn't done for almost a whole calendar year.

He should start against Norwich today, now that would be exciting. Vellios in front of him.

I think the club are well aware how good he is and were keen to get a contract signed. Would have been high risk to play him, get rave reviews and then get the vulchers circling. I think we'll see much more of Ross now and if vulchers come they will have to part with a whole lot of cash. Good management imo.

I'd love to see him behind a striker. He had a good understanding with Vellios late on in the Villa game and in the Bolton game had as many shots in 8 minutes as the whole team in the 90. He will score many a belter and I see a natural goalscorer in him. Similar o Gerrard in that respect. However, if he was to come in and have the same problems of inexperience as last time then no, he is NOT ready. Sub appearances will do if that is the case. We need to get him up to speed asap. If we do we'll have the best young spine of a midfield in the league if Rodders steps up. And all on long term contracts too.

yes better than ossie, neville, bily, coleman, cahill, and they get a game most weekends and not a goal
between them in the league this season only Neville in the carling cup has a goal.:(
