A thread earlier in the week concerning the issue we're having with off topic posts in the Everton forum. Unfortunately, the habit for some is proving difficult to break.
It's not difficult. In fact, it couldn't be any more simple. In the Everton forum, only discuss Everton. We have other forums and other means for idle chit-chat.
If you absolutely feel the need to make a trivial, off-topic post to a member within an Everton thread - use other means provided on the forum. You can use the reputation system and leave a comment, leave a comment on the members profile page, send a private message or e-mail the member through the forum. Say it out loud for all I care - just don't put it within an Everton thread. If you do, at least ensure the core of your post is on topic.
I'm sick of wading through the endless general chit-chat within Everton threads. Members have received infractions and will actually be suspended if it persists.
It makes promoting threads through other means an absolute nightmare and no doubt discourages guests from making GrandOldTeam their first source for Evertonian opinions. If someone clicks on a 'Arteta has signed a 5 year contract' - they don't want to read about what trainers you're thinking of buying...
So again, In the Everton forum, only discuss Everton.
