Ray Atteveld

Seeing the thread about the 11 worst players to wear an Everton shirt, what are your thoughts on Ray Atteveld. I know he played for the Blues, but have absolutely no idea if he was any good for you. Was the time pre-internet and mass football on the telly.

Have a lot of mixed feelings towards him. He has been an Everton player in the past and still speaks highly about the Blues. However, he also has played for and managed Roda Kerkrade, the archrival of my fav Dutch team, Fortuna Sittard.

Did by far the best of the two foreign players we signed at the time, him and Stefan Rehn. Scored a belter in the League Cup if I remember well enough.

Played right back and in midfield and was a useful squad player to have when we were on our spiral downwards into absolute gashness.

i liked raymond tbh dt, he headbutted a guy & got sent off in the game he was first spotted in, i heard once as well that we were at the game to see another guy, but the opinion was that he wasn't good enough to make it in english football.
i think you proved a point eventually mr gullit.

raymond always used to go in goal in the warm-up and i remember him stripping to his undies after his last game for us.

Sorry can't help you there. Always try to ban any Roda moments as quickly out of my head as possible.
