From BBC:
BREAKING NEWS
SPL clubs vote overwhelmingly to reject Rangers' newco application to join the top flight.
In Summary
SPL vote "overwhelmingly to reject application from Rangers newco to join the SPL"
SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster says Rangers in Division Three is "not viable"
Partick Thistle urge the Scottish FA to "take ownership" of the Rangers crisis

"The three viable options are effectively: bringing "newco" Rangers back into the SPL with a range of appropriate sanctions; putting Rangers into the second tier of Scottish football or Rangers going into the bottom of the pyramid into Division Three," he added.
"The third option, I was keen to stress yesterday, would inflict massive damage on the whole of the game in Scotland; and effectively punish 41 innocent clubs for the misdeeds of one."

Why would them dropping to division 3 punish 41 clubs? Why would it be worse than them dropping to division 1?

Because of the SKY TV contract...I dont have a link for it, but it was said that SKY would "eat" one year of no Old Firm and keep the fairly lucrative tv contract intact, but anything more than one year and they'd blow the contract up. The loss of that money would really hurt clubs that are "one the edge" financially.

Thats why we'll see some money pour into the 1st division so that they vote in favor allowing Rangers in.

Be kind of funny to see Rangers not finish in the promotion spots should it happen that way :)

Ashley looks like he's taking closer order at Rangers now.

I wonder if he'd throw the towel in at Newcastle?

Ally (" we don't do walking away") McCoist has just err......... walked away.

Any chance we can roll this jackpot win in on another one? By that I mean can someone get in Alex Salmond's fat face about one of Scotlands oldest and finest* clubs going down the pan quicker than a junkies loose stools?

*Yuck.
