Last surviving member of The Ramones, Tommy, has died following treatment for bile duct cancer.

"We are saddened to announce the passing of Tommy Ramone (nee Erdelyi), the original drummer for the Ramones, earlier today, 11 July 2014."

What a band they were. Was never around to see them in their hayday, infact, I didn't even know who they were when the other 3 passed. Can appreciate their music now though, what a legacy they have left behind.

Just been reading about this.

Very sad indeed.

The Ramones taught me all about Punk when I was a bit younger and Tommy was a brilliant producer aswell as a half decent drummer.

Gutted. If you haven't already seen it, watch the End of the Century documentary. It's great, and really rather moving.

Saw them back when I was in high school and felt very lucky for it. Dead Milkmen opened up for them. I was very surprised to learn (still am) that Johnny Ramone was a hardcore Republican. Didn't really jive with the whole punk thing.

Yeah from what i've read Johnny was a pretty repulsive person all round

I liked the Ramones sad they are now all gone. I only seen them live once, Rotterdam 1981 or thereabouts.

Need more bands like them now.

Only seen them once myself, wasnt until 1989 at the Royal Court.

Such a good band, a lot of the early photos you see of them are taken in Liverpool, this one was in Matthew Street near the land that has them generators on now, next to Cavern Walks
