Radio Merseyside Documentary On The 1985 Season

Is that a new one or a really old one re-aired? I'm sure my dad has a cassette somewhere with something recorded from around that time

Just listened to the first part... bought back so many memories. I was a poor student in Bournemouth in 1985 but still managed to get to see tons of matches that season and the rest I remember being glued to the radio for. I've like got tears in my eyes listening to this. Think I'll finish it tomorrow.

There was another one. Similar in what it covered. But it had one fantastic recording of the crowd during the lap of honour after the QPR game singing 'By far the greatest team.....'. The commentator just went quiet so that only the singing could be heard. Magical. I remember putting that bit as my recorded message on my ansaphone. Really wound up my kopite friends at the time.

YES that's the one! That's the bit I remember listening to over and over again. As a 7-8 year old (in 1994-95 time!!) I was certain I'd have experienced that myself by the time I was this age. Oh the delusion of youth eh.

I had one on vinyl that started at the 84 cup final through to cup winners cup. Think is was radio city and Kev Keatings.

I will have a look for it in the loft next time I'm up there. If I find it I will try and convert it to mp3.
