Radio City blatant bias

Can't fathom that myself.
The majority of commercial radio stations are losing their local individuality as a result of simply becoming beacons of a national network.

Apart from the breakfast show, drive time and a few select other slots they're all centralised broadcasts: one DJ, one producer for lots of stations.

Most probably, they saw the fact that broadcasting every single Liverpool and Everton game required numerous presenters and producers...

... add to that all the production costs and purchasing the rights. It also meant lots of shows were removed to allow the games to be broadcast.

For their accountants I doubt that it does appear to show value for money, however it's just increasing the bland radio that they're happy to give.

I still listen to Radio City Talk as they give a lot of focus on Merseyside football, but apart from that it's Merseyside or Smooth.

I put radio city talk on in the office because I've got dab but in the van it's radio city 2, belter tunes all day long.

I don't listen to the radio for nonsense about Everton, I get my fill on here.

Forgot about that Radio Station even existing. I use to like Alan Jackson on Radio Merseyside, he was good value at times but never got into City at all.

I don't know why anyone would listen to radio city anyway, since it stopped the match commentary I haven't listened to it since. The Liverpool FC Echo are another story, they are supposed to report on local news not state their own idiotic opinions. But there's no point complaining and just don't buy it. At the end of the day, there's simply nothing interesting happening at Everton at the moment so you can't complain about lack of media coverage. I gave up reading the echo when they started reporting on Tony Hibbert's interest in fishing, rather than the fact we were stagnating under the useless Martinez.

Being Liverpool's No.1 Radio Station and virtually the only major station to get news on Everton, Radio City 96.7 (until recently) was the station I tuned into on the hour religiously.

For a while now the lack of ANY news about Everton has been blatant, whilst without fail LFC always seem to be mentioned, no matter if it's the most irrelevant, mundane or pointless bit of 'news'.

This morning, tuned in thinking they'd have t report on our win last night and maybe hear Koemans thoughts, nope. No mention at all yet they felt mentioning a LFC player I've never heard of is going out on loan to a lower league club?

This has nothing to do with being upset with LFC, they don't run radio city. Is it too much to ask to have parity and fairness from 96.7 when it comes to reporting on the city's biggest passion?

It's a bit like the sky sports website

There are daily articles on Liverpool such as potential transfers, who is such and such player, and even a personalised live pre season game updates. They are obsessed with them

Because they have a bunch of overseas fans that will get them page views. It's better for business

This is nothing new. Radio City, BBC Radio Merseyside and the Echo have always be biased In the Kopites favour and have never made a secret of it. The local media in this city really is a disgrace. This is why I have boycotted the Echo for over a decade now and the other two for several years. Do yourself a favour and just avoid all local media, it's that bad (even without the kopite bias) that you won't miss anything.
