A man is making a sign for a pub called the Dog and Duck. He asks the pub owner where he wants the spaces on the sign. The pub owner replies I wanted spaces between Dog and and and and and Duck.

Its the right answer, but in a slightly shorter explanation.

A bit more sense would be that when the sign was finished, the landlord points out that "but there is different space between Dog and And, and And and Duck."
