Was talking to my mate about travelling round Europe and we started wondering if there was much to see there

I wondered if there would be any WWII monuments there or anything, as I find that quite interesting

Normandy is a great place to go to see WWII monuments and museums. The war cemeteries really hit home how many lives were lost and how young they were.

We owe a lot to that generation, and we should not forget it.

Want to visit the Somme next year.

I can't think of that place without my stomach churning, the sheer scale of the loss of life (over 1m) is beyond comprehension.

Old school tie idiots like Haig overseeing the slaughter of 10's of thousands of Allied troops in a matter of days.

I admire you, as I couldn't face it tbh.
