I'm going the match on Saturday but don't finish till 1PM

I'm working from Stockport

Which do you think will be quicker of the following routes?

Head down the M60, past the Trarford Centre and take my chances with the traffic there

Or

Go the long way round on the M60, skipping Trafford Centre and joining the M62 that way

Normally I just go the Trafford Centre Route and leave a bit earlier in case of bad traffic, but it's not really an option in this scenario

Cheers

Though I don't qualify as either

M60 to M56 past the airport then M6 and onto M62 cuts off trafford centre and the 50mph speed limit, that's the way I'd go

Trouble with going the long way around is that its 50 all the way, with the smart motorway thing. Why would the TC be so busy on a Saturday at 1:00? Gotta think most Jan sales are done now considering that they started in mid December and most people will be spent up by now for the most part.

I would suggest going past TC, but don't want to feel responsible if it snarls up.

This is what I would recommend. Used to travel back from work this way and even in the rush hour traffic, it'd move. Used to take me 45-50 mins from Cheadle to Sankey.

You don't look well at all Mikey. I think you're coming down with something which might strike you down on Friday night. Best not to go into work on Saturday, can't be too safe with these viruses and you wouldn't want to spread it round the office.

This is probably one of those times that not having registered with your real name would have been a good idea.

Please allow me to give you my non-wool advice mate.

I'm led to believe there's some roadworks by the Trafford Centre from when I went last week. Perhaps even an average 50mph speed camera thing for a few miles somewhere, but I'm not sure which roads.

I would also say go past the airport, you dont wanna be faffing about going past the trafford centre cos for 1 thing by the time you get there distance wise you'd be close to getting to the M6 if you go the airport way. Then head north on M6 over thelwall and jump on the M62.

This sounds like one of those QCSE questions you annually get in the papers around exam time.

If Michael leaves Stockport 1.00pm on a Saturday afternoon to his destination in Liverpool in his car traveling at 70mph in a westerly direction against a 30mph easterly head wind while having to go through 4 miles of roadworks with 50mph speed restrictions, at what time in the match day thread will somebody moan about the team line up?

That, Douglas, is a thing of beauty (y)
