Any suggestions for the best route to Goodison on Thursday?

I'm finishing at 5pm. Any good short cuts you could suggest?

A523 to congelton then either A532 to M6 jct 17 or A53 to jct 18. Some sat navs will take you further north from Leek toward South Manchester but in my view that is seldom quicker.

Avoid the M6 at all costs if possible.

Junc. 19 northbound always congested. Sheer volume of traffic

Leek to Manchester Airport. 5.15pm Easyjet to Belfast, 6.10pm Flybe Belfast to Liverpool, cab to the game.

Just enough time for a pie and a pint and to get a bet on Kones impending hat-trick.
