This venue must be in jeopardy again as neighbouring Gulf States have all banned travel to and from Qatar and are imposing sanctions on it.

The reason they cited is the Qatari ruler funding terrorism in the region.

South Africa 2010 Slave wage built World Cup - a few deaths
Brazil 2014 Nepalese Slave wage built World Cup in country with significant levels of corruption - a few more deaths
2018 North Korean slave wage built World Cup in country with dubious human rights (amongst other concerns) - few more deaths
2022 Slave wage built World Cup - a few more deaths - held in oppressive regime whose Airline officially sponsor FIFA. Vote deemed by all to have been highly dubiously conducted with many significant back handers to the usual suspects, some of whom have been "retired" but not formally charged yet with any wrongdoing.
