Suspended Fifa vice-president Jack Warner has made public an e-mail that claims Mohamed Bin Hammam "bought" the 2022 World Cup finals for Qatar.

Fifa general secretary Jerome Valcke admitted he sent the e-mail, which also questioned why Asian football boss Bin Hammam was running for Fifa president.

Valcke wrote: "[Hammam] thought you can buy Fifa as they bought the World Cup."

However, Bin Hammam responded by telling BBC Sport on Monday: "I don't know why he [Valcke] has said that."

The Qatari added: "If I was paying money for Qatar you also have to ask the 13 people who voted for Qatar."

Asked whether Valcke's allegation was true he said: "What do you think?"

Valcke stressed that his e-mail to Warner was intended to remain "private" and pointed out that Warner had only published selected parts of it.

"He [Warner] sent me an email asking if I want that [Bin Hammam to run for Fifa president], he said that I should ask Bin Hammam to pull out," Valcke added.

So who's suprised at this new allegation?

Whatever the legitimacy of the allegations against Bin Hammam, it neatly removes the only opposition to another 4 years of Blatter... Honestly if FIFA was a country the UN would have stepped in years ago ...

When will England's media accept that the FA just failed to offer enough bungs to compete for the WC? The bitterness is a bit unsavoury.

Jerome Valcke, who made the original complaint against Hammam is French and Warner who published the complaint is from Trinidad and Tobago and reportedly voted for the Russian 2018 bid.

Hardly the English media is it.

FIFA is falling apart at the seams, the choices for the two world cups were in all likelihood down to cash bribes and Blatter is just as much a criminal as bin-hammam and Warner, change at the top is 100% vital, words fail me.

Well who would have thunked it?

Did any of you see Panorama a couple of weeks ago?

They asked that fella to his face if he had taken bribes. The bloke just pointed at the camera and pretended he couldn't speak English.

If someone accused me of this, and I was innocent, I would rubbish all claims to all journalists and publicly deny the rumours. This fella just smiles and says nothing. WTF?

Football is a corrupt shambles. Has it always been this bad????

I'm not saying it's just the English media covering it, I'm saying their coverage is tinged with the perceived snub given the 'three lions' bid. I've heard nothing but corruption ever since. Didn't they know it was all corrupt beforehand?

I think they all did. Maybe not as bad as they thought when trying to win the bid? I hope the truth comes out they all get sacked and they revote.

There wouldn't have been a peep out of them if England had won that bid. All talk of FIFA as corrupt would have been laughed off as sour grapes by other failed bid teams and Blatter given full FA support.

Regardless if that's true..

Watching Sepp Blatter speak right now is like watching the Don of a powerful crime organization..

Garbage.

I disagree. If it was just the British press then why are massive sponsors like adidas and coca cola commenting on the mess? Australia and the US are pissed off about it too. Why are people from no-mark (in terms of football) nations like switzerland, trinidad and Qatar running the most powerful body in football like a medieval fiefdom?

The BBC and the times did all the investigative work BEFORE the result of the host nations was made clear, no? Everyone was kicking off at the time that it could affect our chances.
