Went to Paris at the weekend to watch PSG v Evian (as I wanted to do the Parc de Princes).
If Fellaini has got any brains, he'll swerve that club if they come in for him. I could see him being tempted by the dosh and the fact he speaks French, but its a gash club which is rapidly transforming into an arab-whopper fest. It seemed the streets around the ground and most of the seats around me were full of Arab idiots, all following the money flowing in from their neck of the woods. Hardly any real atmosphere, and it just didn't come across as a club for the city and its people now. That's a shame, as it was always somewhere that was all about fire and passion, and a right dodgy ground to head to as an away fan.
And the matters on the pitch...Saturday's match (which they won 4-0) was more like a training match or a pre-season game. They were all doing (or trying to do) fancy dan flicks and turns, trying to be more intricate than the last man/pass and trying to walk the ball into the net. It was a joke at times, some players ignoring the easy ball or a strike on goal in favour of drawing oohs and aahs from the crowd.
It's obviously something that is blighting the game in many countries and clubs such as Chelsea have gone through this change, and none of us like it. But PSG seemed even worse. I don't know why, but it did. And for all their wealth, I just can't see them winning the Champions League.
Although I still don't rate Ibrohimovich, yet he only went and scored again on Saturday and had other chances which were a whisker away. So it shows how much I know about the game. He was actually utter garbage the majority of the time, prancing around like a show-pony and whinging about everything and anyone who came within 2 foot of him.
As I say, if Fellaini has a brain underneath that wacky afro, he should swerve a club like that. Here's hoping he sticks to his word and stays he a little longer. He's a monster and can dominate in a monster way here, and we genuinely revere him in a true, passionate 'football' way.
