Anyone getting one. pre ordered one today not gonna cost me a penny as gonna trade in the nintendo 3ds which my son never plays on and his games. Played on one today, was quite impressed.

No because I've bought two PSP's in the past and just never use them.

I'm sure it's all ace and that but I'd never use it.

In all fairness think thats what will probably happen with this as it's what happened with the 3ds, however as i don't use the 3ds and it won't cost me a penny i thought, got nothing to lose

I will probably get one but will wait a year. Supposedly its not going to sell well so maybe the price will come down. 1st gen Japanese hardware usually has some bugs/tics (though admittedly that's more of a Nintendo thing).

The PSP was an underrated system. There are some great dirt cheap games on the platform. Even after 6 years its a lot better portable game system than the 3DS.

PS Vita does look quite nice, but I'm sticking with my 3DS in the hand-held genre. Got some good games out now in Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7 and Resident Evil Revelations, with a few good games still yet to come, like Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater and Luigi's Mansion 2.

My next gaming hardware purchase will either be a better graphics card for my PC, as my current 1GB card isn't enough for me, or just wait it out until the new Xbox arrives on the market. Fingers crossed that the new Xbox will be out before Christmas 2012.

I buy Nintendo handhelds because they're different experiences to console games.

Sony handhelds basically just try to be portable powerhouses. If I want to play Uncharted I'd rather play on a 42" HDTV.

Oh and being a Sony early adopter is never a good idea. Sony always overprice products at launch!

Massively valid points. I think the Vita will be for gamers with money to burn, wanting to play some of their favourite franchises whilst on their travels to work or what have ya.

Microsoft is talking about unveiling the XBox 720 at E3 in 2013, so don't expect it until late 2013. Graphics are so good today that I don't think you will see much difference. Except on the biggest titles (the FPSs that I could give 2 ****es about) developers aren't going to be able to shoulder the cost of games with too much computing power, its already happening now. Especially when you could build a cell phone game at 1/100th the price.

I didn't think that was expected until like 2015? I thought the 360 had a 10 year life span or something, it came out in 2005 I think.

I don't think this Vita thing will do too well. Far too expensive for a portable gaming device.

I really want one so I can take it to work or play it while the mrs is watching some crap on tv.

I think we all know that a price drop won't be far off though. They'll at least start bundling memory cards/games with it those cards are well expensive.
