Everton have released the following images this morning of the proposed new stadium in Kirkby.

What do you think of the proposed designs? Leave comments below.

Last month, an online poll which was given to visitors of the site for a week asking the question;

There has been lengthy discussion on Evertons proposed ground move to Kirkby, now we just want numbers! So assuming that the new stadium design met your approval and isn't just a big lump of soulless plastic (like Boltons Reebok stadium) Would you be in favour of the Kirkby ground move?

Out of 494 votes cast, a slight majority voted in favour of a ground move to Kirkby.

In favour: 255 votes (51.62%)
Not in favour: 239 votes (48.38%)

With the designs now available, we will be running another poll shortly to gage an overall opinion.

To be honest it's an age old trick to show designs illuminated at night to make them look grand and spectacular. The release of two graphics like this does little to answer some of the questions raised over the past few days.

It looks good. Supporters very close to the pitch which would be my main concern. Apart from that there is nothing really to be gleamed from the pictures at all. If that and the location and previous pictures are all that we're supposed to cast our votes using, then I'm sorry but I will vote no to the move.
The actual difference that will make to BK and KW decision though will remain to be seen.

I'd like to be in favour, but I just cannot agree to move out of the city bounds. I'd rather go down a league and stay at Goodison.

This might sound awful and unworkable to some but why don't we wait for the scum to move out of Anfield and then we move in to there for one or two seasons and demolish Goodison and rebuild it.
Not many people will like it as a suggestion but it would work and we'd get what we really want, a new and redeveloped Goodison.

I was expecting a gimmick of some kind. You know like wembley has the arch and our big brother stadium in Cologne has the four illuminated pillars. I say gimmick but I'm quite disappointed now without one, they really need to think about making this stadium stand out from the rest if they seriously want to encourage people to accept the move. Lots of car-parking space though I must say.

So you'd rather go down a division than move 10 minutes away (4 miles from Goodison) or play at Anfield?

Sorry Ichigo but that is the daftest thing I have ever read on here.

Also, not sure if many have noticed but I like the Alan Ball tribute picture on the corner.

Doesn't really fill me with a desire to move to it to be honest. Artist impressions are always made to look better than what it actually would turn out like (as Bruce said, the age old trick of illuminating at night is also thrown in there) and it's not that impressive.

The second image looks poor, the first only really looks decent because you can get an idea of what it'll look like inside (which admittedly looks ok) - as someone else said, it looks like a shopping center from the outside.

Ok to me that is amazing. It makes Goodison look like the dump it is and no mistake. If we are able to take our heritage with us then this can be a great thing. Also isn't there a good chance that Kirby is going to be included in the city boundaries?

I for one couldn't give a flying monkey's [Poor language removed] if I am not within the city boundaries. Man U are not, has it caused them any issues? With a stadium like this we can attract a major commercial interest worldwide, and that has to be good for the club.

Sorry to those who say no. Its not the good old days anymore and it hasn't been for nigh on 2 decades, time to move on and this certainly gets my vote.

As for moving into Anfield, some folk just really don't think before they post do they?

With you on this one Danny.

Also can't believe the misery of some Everton fans, [Poor language removed] hell can anyone crack a smile. This looks amazing, whatever tricks they have used.

Reminds me of the semi-final against Spurs. Amockachi had just banged in the 4th and some miserable [Poor language removed] behind me said -

"[Poor language removed] hell Blues, one would have done" - I mean come on.

Can someone then tell me how is this new stadium going to benefit the club financially if the capacity is only going to increase by 10k? Whereas I would have thought that if they really want the club to compete it should have been at least 55-60k capacity ...

Did say some people wouldn't like it mate.

Yeah maybe going down a division wouldn't be too hot an idea, if it meant we could rebuild Goodison though I'd seriously consider it(which is what I meant originally but was typing whilst on the phone!).

Fair enough if you don't care if we're still a Liverpool city team or not, but I do and I am preeeetty sure I ain't the only one.

TBH Dixie I couldn't give a toss about Man U or any other club or their situation.

Thanks for restoring my faith in Evertonians

Some right miserable sods out there who'll never be pleased. As for people saying "it's an age old trick to show designs illuminated at night to make them look grand and spectacular" What do you want them to do? If they didn't then no doubt you would be saying "Everton haven't got a clue, they should have made more of an effect and shown them at night illuminated etc"

No No and thrice No

I can't believe that our beloved club would suggest we make a life changing decision on a couple of artist impressions. I've had a good luck at the FC Koln stadium and to be honest it really doesn't appeal and here's why:
1. It is not completely enclosed. Most of the sounds from the stands would be lost to the elements thereby reducing the atmosphere in the ground. Would the good people of Kirby want to hear the raucous screams emanating from the ground in their town centre? The FC Koln stadium is in a green belt area so that problem does not occur there. Have a look here www.stadiumguide.com/rheinenergie.htm
2. I can't help thinking of the Meccano set I used to own and the amazing things I could create with it (albeit a bit haphazardly!!). The good thing with Meccano was that if you didn't like it you could take it apart and start again. This new stadium will be ours for a long time to come and I think it will become dated very quickly.
3. How can we build a stadium for less than £100 Million when all the others being built are so much more expensive? I'm a firm believer in the saying "you get what you pay for" and in this instance I think we'll get a cut price stadium and cut price facilities to go with it.
I just wish for once that the club would be a bit more forthcoming in releasing details to us so we can make a better informed decision. On the grounds of what I've seen and heard so far, mine will be a no vote. COYB

Ok, well why have a stadium that can hold 20k more than our average gate?
The purpose of a new stadium is because the old one is just that old, its tired falling apart and may not get a safety certificate in a few years time.

A stadium like will attract other possibilities, boxing bouts, concerts, investment in advertising, u21 matches,

Also if we work out the increase in capacity and multiply by the ticket prices over a league season, it can possibly generate an extra 5million.

The executive boxes will also generate more money. We may get better advertising then what we get now too.

Instead of Chang we may get Stella or IBM. Because the stage would be a more attractive stage for them to sell their product.
