Ok, I thought we could do a little experiment by way of a hypothetical scenario.

Just suppose that Kenwright et al didn't own Everton. Suppose that we the fans did (a but like barca), represented by the members/posters of GOT.

We still have the same debts, stadium, team, problems that the board face, only we are now in charge.

Now, I'm not trying to prove anything here, I just want to see what our collective group minds can come with by way of a solution to our on and off the field problems.

So what I suggest is people post ideas of how we can proceed and improve the club without jeopardising its long term future.

Amongst the solutions could be donations and share offers. Selling a part of the club to a new owner. Borrowing more money for on the pitch investment. Trying to find a retail partner to help with a new stadium. You name it.

When we have a good few ideas of how best to proceed we can ask D/D to put a poll on and we can all vote for the future of our virtual Everton.

For my money I suggest we look into creative ways to redevelop goodison, expand markets in asia (particularly China, Japan and Korea), get more money from merchandising, sponsorship deals (we sadly lack here) and look to ways to improve the global recognition of Everton the team.

We also need to give Moyes 20 or 30 million this season. Which if Fellaini doesn't sign will come from selling him. If not I'd be tempted to sell Rodwell if people are willing to offer silly money.

The floor is yours people; or should I say part owners of EFC.

Negotiate better sponsorship deals for a start, ours are a joke compared to some of the other clubs in the Prem.

Immediately create some sort of initiative to develop a higher turnover and revenue for the Club, this would be through not only the old avenues of shirt sponsorship (splitting sponsorship deals for local/international, and also different sponsors for league/FA cup ties) and increasing the brand value internationally. Developing alternative business plans would be the key (I have no suggestions atm because it is 1 am here and I am tired).

I would not stress too much about departures of Rodwell and Felliani as long as we kept a significant portion of our talent pool as this would be a building time for the club and you have to have some form of transition from a sell to buy club to a top contenter year in year out. Ensuring a definitive plan on selling players is in place so that we know in advance we are selling players and able to do whatever we can to get the best price would be vital during this transition period.

The whole aim of this plan is to significantly grow turnover and revenue so we can have a transfer kitty each year as well as always generating profits for the club. Also accepting the fact we will lose some good players in the short term to ensure the future of the club is secured.

This is valid too. I'm aware some fans would want Moyes sacked and someone else replaced. This should be an option we can vote on as owners.

An Everton football academy in Australia would be my first move, coupled with a 3 game summer tour there every year. Push the brand there, and try to promote one or two future stars from there.
If the council will work with us, close the school and bulldoze it, put the carpark there for now. Flop the Bullens and turn the pitch 90 degrees. Extend the Park end so becomes effectively the new bulles side, making the bullens a goal end opposite a goal end where the main stand is. This could be done a section at a time, and would allow a progressive greater capacity, whilst removing obstructed views, and implementing proper corporate facilities as well as more bars, more toilets, and more disabled areas.
Alternativley, Ground share, 1 stadium doing a full time job of hosting a season instead of two seperately hosting half a season each makes great financial sense. It could be the stadium for the North West, and in summers could hold concerts and conferences and whatever else. Would have to be a World Class design, and allow for alterations in future.
Our problems start and finish with the stadium problem - get passed that and there is room to expand, but as it is, Goodison is restricting our potential. Harsh as it sounds.

Something that annoys me to no end as well. Our sponsorship deals are ludicrous compared to what other teams get. Arsenal got £100 million over 14 years including the stadium sponsorship.

We get £12 over three years.

Ok Arsenal are champions league and in a rich area. But surely we can do better than this. OK we get the exposure in the asian market, but Japan or Korea would surely be more lucrative than Thailand?

The reality of course is that Everton as global brand or as a famous club is simply eclipsed by the real madrids, barcelonas, man united and yes liverpool.

We can say negotitate better sponsorship deals, but what if Chang is as good as it gets?

All very well, but the redevelopment changes you talk about we cannot afford. How can we pay for them? TBH your plans sounds as expensive as building a new stadium.

Increasing our fanbase and as such as our revenue streams via the following...

1: Getting rid of the stupid exclusivity deal with Kitbag and getting our merchandise Worldwide. Also promoting it more in Liverpool.

2: Making more of our international players. Forging closer links with Australia and America loaning players out and receiving them.

3: Ensuring home games are consistently sold out. This can be done by making the game more accessible to families and offering promotions. Bums on seats is better than empty seats even if the tickets are sold for cheaper.

Well, a new stadium was on the table and got reigned in. And although the redevelopment sounds expensive, we would have to do it piece by piece. A couple of million a season for ten seasons. Or Twenty seasons, but the issue is getting that started.

I don't know this, but I would suggest that the stadium developments you talk about would cost 200 million or so. Which would be more than a couple of million a season. I think if it could be done for a few million every season we would already have done it.

How can we promote more in Liverpool beyond what we already do with the two stores? What kind of thing?

It's been said that empty seats are more to do with restricted views than lack of demand. Would selling them off cheaply not result in a great many people waiting for these sells off rather than paying premium price. Its one of the reasons why supermarkets dont discount a great deal on food because the logical consequence is people not buying the full price stuff.
