Went the Sainsburys on Rice Lane after footy the other week about 21.30 and there was a fella asking for money for something to eat. Had no money on me as was paying on me card. Got what I went for plus a meal deal for the fella. As I came out, he was getting in the passenger's side of a car.

My father was telling me of a guy from Balbriggan who used to beg in Dublin particularly on Trinity Street in the 60s and 70s. Amassed a fortune over the years but wouldn’t spend tuppence, even hated paying for the bus fare from the Brig into Dub.
