I think this entire year has been one Wiggins would like to forget. He had a distinctly ordinary spring season. His Giro was literally a wash-out. The whole drama around his Tour participation was not good. His non-performance in the World road race was pretty abysmal, whilst the news that he's withheld Froome's bonus from last years Tour capped what has been a pretty awful year for him.

It must be pretty hard to sully the memory of 2012 when he achieved so, so much, yet he's certainly done his best to do so. It's hard to see what he'll do in 2014, but there remains a perception that he'll do not very much for his big salary.

He's looking like an annoying flash in the pan Tour winner. I didn't know that about withholding Froome's bonus - how petty.

David Walsh of the Times has written a book recently about life inside Team Sky. It's in that.

I can imagine - from just reading the review of that where he appears to give a clean bill of health to Sky - he's going to look pretty stupid in a few years if and when their riders are outed as drug takers. He surely knows there's a high probability of it. His explanation for Froome's meteoric rise from Africa look petty lame.

Given the proximity of the track cycling program to the road team I'd be very surprised if any of the Sky riders were doing anything. The risks are far too great. I suppose JTL will be the first real test case.

Yep, do a lot of riding. Training for this next summer

Should be ace. Can't wait. There are some cracking climbs 'reasonably' close to our base in Nauders so should get some good riding in the week leading up to it too.

Usually ride in booty from various events ridden over the past few years, so last years Maratona one is pride of place at the moment.

Looks great that mate. Can't wait until I can drive and explore some continental scenery on my bike - saying that, there's lots I haven't cycled in the UK. Can't wait for next summer already!

I'm without doubt biased, but there's something magical about going around the mountains on a bike. It's almost spiritual. You bust your arse slogging the way up to some of the most beautiful places on earth. Magical.

Tend to prefer Italy to anywhere else. Done a few climbs around Bourg d'Oisans and it kinda spoils things having a crappy ski village at the top of a climb. The best ramp there imo is to Villard de Notre Dame - www.steephill.tv/2006/villard-notre-dame/ - precisely because so few people are on it.
