What were the police playing at last night? About 20 of them milling about by the traffic lights chatting and doing sod all then not a single copper on the way past the coaches and cemetery and all the way to the car park. There was a few minor scuffles but it nearly got ugly, and if it had, there could have been absolute chaos there last night. I mean 6000 away fans - with plenty spoiling for a fight - and no extra policing. Eventually two horses and 6 police turned up to calm things down but it could so easily have been a major problem and they would have been helpless to do anything. Well done to those blues for showing restraint and the voices of reason who helped calm people down.

Policing around the coaches is always poor

Always wondered why it doesn't go off a lot more

When I walked up very calm and civilised.....

From what I've been told not everyone had restraint and the gobby mancs bit off more than they could handle with some young scallys who were on there way home .

I hope so. The video on the Echo website shows a few of the City fans snarling and a fella with his little lad on his shoulders walking past.

...I mentioned this on the match thread. There are some flips on the Echo website. Let's hope it doesn't flow into the 2nd leg. I can remember visiting Main Rd in the dark days and virtually every car had windows smashed.

I have to say, it's been a rare day that I've seen aggro, and the fences were still around the ground when I started going.

This is the bit I find worrying - that could be me with my two. I wish the mindless idiots bent on fighting would reaslise that it's not life or death. It's a game to be enjoyed.

I know we all take it seriously, but no one should be worked up to the point of hospitalising another dude because of a football match.

It says on that link that the fella who filmed it only caught the very start is his memory died in his phone . The mancs got a slap.
