Seems to me that the clubs and the PL as in so many areas do not get it. The proposal by Stoke CEO Tony Scholes that away tickets should never be more expensive than the least expensive home ticket to me seems fair given usually the away fans get stuck in the corner or way up in the gods (Newcastle).

Re the story about Manchester City returning nearly 1,000 tickets for their trip to the Emirates perhaps it says something about their fans or perhaps about the finances of their fans? Having said that I doubt we would send back 1000 and there can hardly be much of a difference in the finances of the average City fan against the average Evertonian (in fact it probably favours City in that respect)

The biggest thing it says though is how little City care for their fans. If the price is such an issue, for the cost of say 3 days of Tevez's wages they could have subsidised the price of the tickets for £30 each.

The £62 that Arsenal were charging for Citys visit is a disgrace tbh.

It does say a lot about Citys fanbase that they went unsold though. As if that was us & a large portion of the stalwart away following didn't take them up, then I'm certain they'd have sold either to general ST holders with fewer points or if it went to general, Southern based Blues would have snapped them up.

A tad embarrassing for all involved imo & it'll affect the atmosphere on Sunday.

Scandalous mate.
Wigan wanted £55 for me and lad, home end a combined ticket was £20

West brom they sell as many St.s as poss and that determines the away price. ie away end makes up the shortfall in budget.

Its the kids prices that pish me off most.

Chelsea in the cup replay was one of the cheapest in recent years and I reckon they have one of the cheapest prices in London for a pint.

As belts tighten they are all gonna realise how much they actually rely on the working class fan with kids. It is those fans that buy the kits etc etc and are about to not be able to afford stuff.

They are too expensive, and Tony Scholes' idea is profound, but City fans have no right to bitch about it.

The main reason why Arsenal are charging what they charge is in order to try and keep pace with the idiots who are spunking hundreds of millions on players in order to "win" things, and if anyone ever tried to make the Etihad pay its way whilst keeping its current wage structure and squad then City fans would quickly find themselves paying a lot more than £62 a ticket.

Agree mate - I always look around at the away games I go to and am staggered by the effort and obvious financial commitment our supporters put into our club.

Fulham do a pretty decent deal £15 for kids tickets which is I guess why the Putney end is always full of blues, but with the cost of transport and food it's still a big wedge out of the average fans finances.

Hope all is well with your mob and belated HNY!

How very true, a great point that & makes this issue very ironic.

People are silly enough to pay it, the clubs are no different to any other business.
Dont like it, dont go.

Aren't City's season tickets mega-cheap? That in itself can be seen as a subsidy to their fans.

I take your point, but read somewhere yesterday that City fans are complaining about being charged £62 when other clubs fans such as Stoke were only being charged £35 for the same seats. Something wrong there.

Has anyone seen the video clip of the linesman having to tell Hart and Lescott to go over and say thanks to the players...unbelievable...£62 and not even a thank you
