Saw this tonight. Incredible how this wreck has never been found before. Sad tale for the Pilot though. Have a look.

Yeah man, soon as i saw this i thought of you. I hear the ministry are looking at preserving it and bringing it home. It's a kittyhawk, right?

Sure is a Kittyhawk. I know we have offered to help out as well. They are afraid that it will be stripped for scrap before they can get it moved. Desperately hope that is not the case. Should defo be in a Museum. A truly incredible find because as of it's discovery it had been untouched since the Pilot walked off into the Desert.

There is some photos of the guys holding up the ammo magazine and the wings with holes in it. Lots to be seen.

That's awesome mate (except the part about the pilot walking to his death)

I wish you posted more Astro.

You don't tweet as much anymore either.

Been studying loads as I am returning to flight status. I also worked 12 hr shifts this week as we were under an exercise. Had to fly in my Chem gear. Sucked. Will tweet you a pic later. I am the trainer for our Squadron footy team. First year we have had a team. I have been sorting out equipment, and kits. Gonna have a boss kit. Will post a pic of it as well when it comes in.
We primarily play on base against other Americans, so I am setting up games with German teams this summer to help us improve our play so we will be heart breakers and game takers next year. I am planning the airdrop of personnel for the D-Day re-enactment the first week of June. Trying to find a way to get an Everton badge in every picture possible. Scarf, kit, or something. All that stuff has kept me running round the clock as well as fambo duties. I lurk a ton on here as well as twitter. Don't think I would win any popularity contests in either location so I only interject where it is a favorable scenario. That or my paranoia has flared again. Hope all is well in Smitty World. Have a boss weekend brother!

Must be paranoia pal because you're one of my favourites on here.

Must be an Air Force thing.

Danke Jock! Right back at ya. I am so dense though, I swore the match was today. Got all whipped up into a frenzy, and got home ready for it, and yup, it is tomorrow. Not firing on all cylinders today.

Both links posted are great stories, terribly sad, but great stories. Are there any more of this kind? A few thrown in where some of/all of them survived would be good too.

All good in Smith world mate. All engaged and stuff now .... FFS.

Sounds like you're rushed off your feet.

Make sure your team don't sit back after taking a 1-0 lead.

I saw the post about the engagement. Congrats! By the way, no. We don't sit back. We lost 2-1 the other day, and I had the keeper out of the net and joining the attack cause I knew we were down to less than a minute left. We lost possession and the guy got loose. Keeper ran him down, and made the save. We defo run on the ragged edge. We only play 9 a side, including a keeper. I run a diamond four at the back with a stopper and a sweeper with left and right back. The stopper can join the attack if necessary with a three man midfield, left, right and center mid. Single Striker up top and we have a guy who can pull it off. Scored two a week before last. We have two friendlies with German teams scheduled, and we are trying to sort out the logistics of getting an RAF team down here for a friendly. I am wicked rushed but I am having a blast right now. I find out if I made Master Sergeant this week, and I was the United States Air Forces in Europe nominee for the Air Mobility Command General Robert "Dutch" Huyser Award in the Loadmaster Category. So loads going on right now. Knee is getting stronger. Feeling fit again. Makes a big difference. Fired up and ready to go here.
