Premier League's Worst ever signings

Carrol to Liverpool

He surely has to be the worst. And I'm not saying that as an anti-red, and have nothing against Carrol, who I think is a decent enough striker. But 35m for a 5m striker was just astounding. Even worse than Steve Marlet, who signed for 11.5m but was prob worth about 3m...there was accusations and even charges (later dropped) of exorbitance about that fee, yet Marlet still scored more than Carrol in about the same number of games.

A terrible signing that hasn't got mentioned yet I don't think. Spurs 16M Dos Santos
It was about 3m. Maybe 16m Turkish Lira, but deffo not more than 3/4m pounds. Still a good player for me, but attitude problems apparently. I guess there's always going to be that issue when you're a young lad with a big reputation coming from a team such as Barca. Deffo more suited to Spain / Italy as opposed to the Premier League, but maybe he might make it over here one day.

Glen Johnson 18m Liverpool
Crespo 17m Chelsea
Wright-Phillips 21m Chelsea
Kleberson 7m Utd
Juan Pablo Angel 9m Villa
Postiga 7m Spurs
Owen 16m Newcastle
Decent list.

Add 32m Veron for United to that, too.

I think Johnson hasn't been a bad signing tbh, he's a good right back but obviously worth not even half of 18m. He's imo not as good as Seamus Coleman, is older and appears to be a lot more of a tit. But the money is relative and the RS have so much of it they can continue to spunk so much of it on non world class players.

If we're talking about Kleberson for 7m then we can't also forget Bebe for 8m.

Makes me a bit sad looking at all these flops when our record signing was just 11m for Yakubu. :( I wish we could afford to take a punt on players too, as opposed to missing out on 99% of targets because we're penny pinching and looking to make every penny count.
