...yep, I keep saying there's a status quo and as long as that's maintained the football world is ok. The status quo involves a 'little' Everton who are very much behind the Reds.

Definitely a factor, but there's been some high profile feelgood stories in recent times; the Sunderland donation, Nais's benevolence etc. That always helps with the image.

Basically no other club sees us as threats so don't mind us. I can guarantee if we'd been challenging for last 10 years we would be nowhere near that high.

I also feel (while not actually supporting) that many Americans have a soft spot for Everton due to Landon and Tim playing here. Could be another reason.
