Premier League clubs to discuss radical changes to FA Cup and League Cup

Those teams are also not arsed about the FA Cup.
Maybe now. When the matches were played on their own match weekends I think most everyone put out a solid side. It wasn't anything like the midweek b teams in the League Cup at least the way I remember it even 5 years ago.

It's completely wrong. But my suggestion wasn't really about them and more about the general indifference to the League Cup and also that the FA Cup has a similar attitude trickling in which really shouldn't be for an iconic competition. I think one cup brings back some of that importance. Then you can also start treating it right with replays and such and not like a hassle. That's where the 6 clubs need to be told to do one.

Yeah, its sad, but "progress" I guess. The Div 3 and 4 clubs have their own cup comp, which is what I saw Bristol win, (and lose), and I know the fans get into that after a few rounds. Having a Wembley final is a massive deal for them, even though the play offs are decided there as well.

Maybe, once sponsors are up for a change, replace that cup with the League Cup?

I think having the Trophy is a great thing and should definitely stay.

Makes sense doesnt it? The lower league cup has never been known as anything other than The *sponsor* Cup. Bristol City won the Freight Rover Cup. Whoever won it last season won the Chekka Trade Cup. Same actual trophy.

The League Cup, sponsored by Roydo Inc has far more gravitas. Sponsor aside.

Be made up if the League Cup became up for grabs every season without the usual doped up clubs like City, Chelsea and Liverpool holding a monopoly over every single competition.

Imagine the excitement of a semi final draw consisting of clubs like Everton, Leicester, West Ham & Aston Villa.

Proper cup ties and the chance for none glory hunting fans to see some silverware.

Or City reserves v Liverpool reserves

They need to give them the option to move to the big pay day stadium
Went through a phase of that happening.

The real payday comes from lower league sides getting the home draw and getting right in the faces and working hard on a bobbly pitch where the wind can whip around. A real leveller.

Chance of nicking a win or a bug payday in the replay.

There are millions of fans that don't support premier league or even championship clubs.

The game is being taken further and further away from those fans.

I went to Marine quite a bit last year and enjoyed it more than watching anything on the TV (internationals, European etc.).
