Prem Shirt Sponsors.......

I'd just like to see the Everton shirt for sale in an airport beside the other premier league teams.

In 4 years of going through at least 40 airports, on different continents i have never seen it for sale.
Including John Lennon airport.

I understand Spurs.. always the media love in.... it's the West Ham one I don't get!

Perhaps the New West Ham stadium played a part in them luring a better sponsor than we would usually associate with them. Big shiny new stadium, London location = potential exposure for investors/sponsors. That's my take on it anyway mate

Aye mate totally agree but totally understand why we locked into a deal with kitbag. The folks who run our club ( I'm trying to be kind here ) haven't the vision or nouse on how to market Everton to the masses. Everton in the community for example do a fantastic job but the way Everton go on about it, we'll they make us sound like a small family club like Oldham. They never have and never will brand Everton globally because they are simply too stuck with this "little old Everton syndrome". Someone could do with hitting them over the head with the 9 titles, fa cups, cup winners cup to wake them up from their comfortable slumber. Hopefully ( a big if ) when the stadium gets the go ahead, a lot of things will change, including forward thinking people who aren't [Poor language removed] scared of sharing a city with the shyte and acting like they are the big brother of the city. We are Everton, and the shyte only exist to amuse us and nothing more.

The press Dept don't help either. For instance, in the on line telegraph the Europa cup reports consisted of the RS and Spurs, not even a mention of the blues. Articles about Dunkin Donuts and other RS trivia but nothing, zero, about Everton being the only British club left in it........I'm joining @Bryan in a fume.............

Relegated in recent times, haven't challenged the top 8 in a while, Big Sam in charge and never a risk of getting into Europe for more TV games is my confusion!

You know, thinking about this, why is it that London matters to a shirt sponsor? They are on the kit for the tv, right? No difference between a team in London or Milwall then, right?

We need to win a trophy and the sponsers will be fighting over us. The rs are doing a great job in marketing

Its nothing to do with winning a trophy, Its how well you are supported globally, An F.A cup/League cup won't make a difference to anything

A sustained period in the top 4 is the only way to get in with the big boys and guess what? You need loads of money to do that

I've ranted about this many times previously and been accused of paranoia about the media, so I'll keep it brief.

We get marginalised by the biased media, which means our profile is a lot lower than other clubs.
A lower profile makes us less attractive than other clubs.
The size of the sponsorship deal isn't entirely linked to winning things, as Newcastle haven't won anything of note for 60 years and yet have a better deal than us.
Perception equals reality.
The club needs to be far more aggressive in terms of marketing, and far more media savvy in terms of cajoling the media, as well as being far more reactionary to negative press stories and stories constantly linking EFC players with moves away.
Constant negative stories that are completely fictional, about how best players are certs to move on (but never do) hurts the image of our 'brand'.

It also goes without saying that success on the field would help, but that won't totally turn things around, as shown by no change in the club's perception, despite finishing in the CL places 10 years ago and constant top 6/7 league finishes. The most we have received is a begrudging 'punching above their weight' perception, which intimates that this will end soon and that our rightful place isn't in the top 7.

I'm always surprised to see tables like this...

For example, Leicester, Stoke and QPR are all owned or at least part owned by people who sponsor them. Why would they not just Sponsor them for like £10m a year, as a way of fiddling the books?

As for City, same applies, except no doubt they'll get a £60m a year shirt deal next undoubtedly.
