kev

player valuation - PRICELESS
I originally posted this in the "our team in 5 years" thread in the main forum but would be interested to know what people think.
Back in 2007 the Daily Mail predicted the England team for 2014 World Cup
This was their effort -

Ben Amos (Man UTD)
Sam Hutchinson (Chelsea)
Micah Richards (Man City)
Gavin Hoyte (Arsenal)
Robbie Threlfall (L'pool)
Dean Parrett (Spurs)
Michael Johnson (Man City)
James Henry (Reading)
Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
Jose Baxter (Everton)
Scott Sinclaire (Chelsea)

Just shows how difficult it is to know which young players are going to make it to the very top!
All of these players obviously showed the potential.

To be fair, this is probably just an attempt at selling papers with silly articles. Is that supposed to be the XI, or just 11 squad players? I think more than a few from the 2010 squad will be playing for your England in Brazil.

Its almost impossible to predict 5 years from now but thats still quite a poor effort

Michael Johnson  What happened to him like

The sad thing is, not only are none of those likely to be in the squad, only three of them are even playing in the Premier League. Gavin Hoyte is in League two, Robbie Threlfall plays for Morecambe, Dean Parrett plays for Stevenage in League one, Michael Johnson has retired, James Henry is at Wolves, and of course Jose Baxter is at Sheffield United.

Amos and Hutchinson are languishing in the reserves at United and Chelsea respectively, neither looking like troubling the first team any time soon.
