KickOff.com has learnt that efforts to get English Premiership teams Liverpool, Newcastle United and Everton in Cape Town are in its final stages, with dates having already been set.

It has for some months been touted that the Merseyside duo had been earmarked to make an appearance in the Mother City, while The Magpies have also been throw into the mix, along with Fulham.

KickOff.com has since obtained the proposed dates for matches, with the Liverpool one being a one-off against Ajax Cape Town on May 21.

Everton and Newcastle are then set to join the Urban Warriors in a pre-season tournament in July, similar in structure to the now redundant Vodacom Challenge. The dates are as follows:

Newcastle United vs Ajax Cape Town (July 20)
Newcastle vs Everton (July 24)
Everton vs Ajax Cape Town (July 27)

Heard about this in the pub down at Spurs the other Sunday.

Spent a quality 5 nights in Cape Town during the World Cup. My favourite city on the planet. Absolutely superb place, and I'd be doing this trip in a flash if it wasn't for the fact that my replacement is due here the very same week so I'll be conducting my handover :(

One of the few places on earth I wouldn't go to watch us. Very, very dangerous place. Fond of sticking one up your chuff forcibly.

Your loss, seriously one of the loveliest places on the planet.
Anyone planning on taking a trip to come watch the blues has a place to stay. Payment in the form of sodomy. For steken.

Sure it is mate. Looks stunning whenever I've seen it. Just don't see the point of visiting places that are seriously risky.

The touristy areas of Cape Town are perfectly safe.

I happily drove around all of the Western Cape, walking back to hotels from bars in the dark, and never once felt in any danger.

You are missing out - most beautiful country on earth.

We spent almost an entire month down in South Africa and never had one incident when it was on-top. Be sensible, don't be a bad tit and you'll be fine.

Pretty much the same wherever you go. There are places that just scream out at you, "don't go down that street/into that area etc" so box clever and no dramas.

Good advice for general life, not just Cape town

Then you are seriously missing out; I live 30 minutes drive from Cape Town Stadium, and Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and I don't think I am being too biased when I say that...:)

Its not that bad, went there for nearly 3 weeks 2 years ago, no trouble. My old man goes there at least twice a year, never any trouble.

dang I hope those dates are wrong. I leave the week before the matches start. Hasn't Cape Town has been trying for a while to get these teams out? I heard of something similar happening a few years ago.

And yeah be smart and you will be perfectly fine, no where near as dangerous as people's imaginations make it out to be.
