Pre-Season friendly 18.07.09 vs Airbus UK

Kick off 3pm at Airbus Uk on Saturday 18th July.

Should be the Academy/Reserve team, but DM might send a couple of first teamers.

It'll be a good chance to see the youngsters close up, standing pitch-side all round Airbus' ground and shouldn't be any more than an Ayrton Senna to get in!!

Why do we play absolute crap teams each pre-season? We should be participating in mini tournaments against decent opposition in readiness for the season.

I thought it was only the RS and Manure fans that didn't recognise any teams outside of the Euro elite!!

I'm sure the Bury loyal fans will appreciate you calling them crap, even Airbus have fans you know!!

I like the fact that we don't go in for the 'pointless' mini-tournaments, and that we send teams to local clubs who profit from Everton coming to them pre-season, after all pre-season is all about fitness levels, not results.

Thats just downright insulting tio Airbus. Every prem team sends a reserve team or youth team to play lower league and non league clubs.

With out them there is no English football. It's a way of helping them out financially and giving out non first team members a run out.

Also most of those mini tournements are a waste of time. If you look at those games only 2 out of the 4 teams that usually partake actually give a damn.
