Yesterday Ajax brought out the news that Abdelhak Nouri, commenly known as Appie, suffered severe braindamage after passing out on the field with heart issues Saturday. His brother already confirmed that doctors don't think he will be able to think, move, eat, smell or recognize people. He's been cleared for medical transport and will be brought back to Amsterdam today.

With this loss Ajax has no only lost a good footballer but also a terrific person. Appie is commenly known as a polite kid who Always enjoyed football and his family. He was a real example for the Dutch muslim community and his loss will be felled on the Dutch football fields.

Read this this morning. Awful, awful thing to happen to anybody, but seems worse or more cruel, for a fit and able sportsman.

I read it as hecollapsed on the pitch due to heart arrhythmia and his brain was starved of oxygen, hence the brain damage

Basically due to an underlying heart condition

Oh my god, with all the tests footballers have these days it's amazing that things like this happen. It's strange how they seem to be on the increase i.e. Players collapsing due to unfounded medical conditions

Hope it's not as bad as first reported for the lad
