Prawn Sandwiches (Old Trafford)

That article says Archibald Leich designed the rs stadium. I didn't know that tbh

Mate it lists Fulham instead of us. When ours was the flagship of his designs.

Anyway, old Trafford is on the same level as anfield, both are beyond being able to compete with new modern stadium unless they bulldoze the stands.

New white hart lane and us if we do it right will leave them behind at least in that aspect,

Utd could easily knock that stadium down and build it better. They have the room. The shower across the park on the other hand, well they are stuck.

I'm sure I read that teams can no longer player with a stand missing so that's a no go. They're also next to a rail line so it's not that easy.

I’ve never actually been to Old Trafford weirdly. This isn’t making me what to go either
As others have mentioned, it really isn't anything special at all, and I've always found that it's a moody atmosphere and as such even more enjoyable.

Many go because it is a close fixture and they're still labelled a large club (wanting a scalp), but apart from that there isn't much of a draw or at least not for me.

I've had more trouble with United fans, to and from the match, than any other club and that's including some clubs that are notorious for their desire to fight.

Really I did not know that. I guess it is trickier and harder then.

They still have quite a bit of room there even with the canal and tracks. They could reconfigure the layout of the land and placement of the stadium.

If they played somewhere else they could in theory rebuild a bigger newer, well at least newer stadium. Get creative with the canal and build up over it if need be other teams have done stuff like that.

Although I suspect if they ever consider it they will probably move somewhere else.

Still easier than the crowd across the way.

To be honest I read it on here I think?

Athleticos old stadium was built over a motorway.

This is why I'm excited about ours, our east and west stands have massive concourse areas to maximise the internal stadium potential.

The stadium got knocked down recently except for that stand with the motorway underneath it, looks weird from the pic I saw, not sure if they are eventually going to knock it down.

I
Little known fact - Archie Leich's original design for Anfield didn't include having provision to build on top of long term residents homes that neighboured the ground.
If Goodison had been expanded at the expense of local residents it would have been about 80% in favour. Just like the Chelski jibes got lost when we got a new owner. I love Everton but our fans have an imaginary moral high ground to compensate for nothing much since '95
