Do it.

Check everything you’ve ever had. Even if you’re certain you didn’t have it. Check.

You might just get a nice surprise.

Before you can’t check anymore in a couple of years time.

And also check you're on the right tax code too.

I checked mine on Martin Lewis's website a few years back - took a few minutes.

Turns out I was still being taxed as though I still had a company car ( job from years before ) and I was owed thousands.

Some company sent me about £2500 out of the blue a few years back, and just this week a long settled mortgage company sent me £350 for some cock up on fees or interest or sommet.

While we are on this, if anyone has decided to cash in their pension, (for older viewers, obvs), the tax codes the pension companies use are useless.

Lets say, for example, you have a pension worth £10000, and think, might as well have that. Well, you will get £2500 tax free, (normal), but your tax code will assume the other £7500 is actually a monthly amount, so will lob a tax debit on it at the higher rate. ie, taxed as if you get paid £7500 per month.

You will get the refund, but I think you have to chase them a bit.

Buy me a van.

I'm pretty sure I've avoided this scam from day 1 but I'd like you check.
Trouble is I don't want to start handing over my details to any place online that will start haranguing me for their slice. Can anyone point this thread to a bone fide independent site where a search can be done?

You should just be able to do it with the companies you’ve had the things with mate.

The banks etc...
