Got an issue with my elderly mother , how do I start the ball rolling to gain the above.

Anyone had any dealings with this and can provide any advice?

Have examined the interweb , but would like maybe a first hand experience so to speak,

See a solicitor. It is straight forward, but is easily mucked up if you dont do it properly.

Did it for my Mum. Basically you take charge of all financial and legal matters, it gave her peace of mind for over five years as I made all her serious decisions,(with her input I might add).

Which type do you need mate ?
Personal welfare is simpler than the financial one.

The forms are lengthy but it is possible to do them yourself, but, if any doubt, get professional help. It's also less stressful all round if someone independent is involved.

Please get professional advice, I know someone who works for me who tried to do a PoA herself - the result is that following her husband's death she is left with a lawyer's bill of £22,000 to sort the mess of a poorly executed PoA.
