Player Valuation: £50m
Of the 'modern' day icons over the last 15 or so years I'd say there were around four.....Duncan Ferguson, Super Kevin Campbell, Leighton Baines, and the irrepressible Tim Cahill, the latter being the most deserving.

Anyone agree that Seamus is definitely going to join that list from our current squad? Ross is going to be a boss player, as is James McCarthy, but like those mentioned previously I reckon Seamus 'gets' Everton. Love to see him captaining us and his country in the not too distant future.

Nobody in the current squad has the potential to be an icon.

Sadly.

A modern day icon...why not? I purposely didn't say legend, as we haven't had any of them for many a year....but someone that's iconic and immediately makes you think "Everton that" when you see them or hear about them....Cahill 100% for me, not particularly ( or solely) based on his football ability, but for how he performed on and off the pitch, how he represented everything that his ace about Everton and how he put his head in where it counts...Seamus is definitely heading that way.

Theres a fine line between bossness and icon.

Baines is utterly boss, McCarthy as well, Barkley is the most likely to become an icon.

Clearly its my viewpoint.

I mean I never considered Campbell an icon, I honestly never liked the fella.

But Duncan, I liked Duncan, Duncan was an icon.

It's because he's ginger isn't it.

If McCarthy carries on the way he's been going then definitely. His determination is outstanding and for me was summed up by the triple tackle he done at arsenal, just blatantly refusing to give the ball up.

Like you say mate, it's opinions. Super was much more of an icon for me than Duncan....and having met both Super and Dunc, i have to say KC was leagues ahead. Not dissing Duncan and his appeal, but Super literally dragged us from the abyss.
