Some of the best non-EFC goals that I saw just weren't filmed, or at least I never spotted any footage, nor would I want to see them again, but these are the 5 more memorable ones I remember from Goodison.
A very painful example was McAllister (a long time before his infamous free kick) against us in 1985, an exquisite curler in a rare home defeat. Two defeats against a very average Leicester in the first half of the season were the games that cost us the league that season, not the others that are commonly cited. Swine.
Cyril Regis, 2nd Coventry goal against us towards the start of the 87-88 season, nearly broke the Park End net. Happened to be one of those matches when that great team of ours was fraying.
Van Persie 2009 (?) late on, dipping volley from a long diagonal pass just a minute or two from time. We had really deserved to beat Arsenal that night after a sublime Cahill header put us in front but the goal was simply brilliant.
Drogba 2008. We played really well this particular Sunday and until Lampard came off the bench and scored an inevitable equaliser we were good money for at least a point after an Arteta penalty and Yobo header. Drogba's winning instinctive half volley from 30 yards was an exocet. Swine.
A cup replay against Boro on a Tuesday night (I think). Their right back took aim from about 30 yards and at that time Big Nev could keep out such shots but stretch and jump as much as he could the ball just arced into the top corner. One of those goals embellished by a goalkeeper's futile athleticism. I think that made it 1-1 on the night but we still got through the tie eventually.
