Positivity, again, got a ticket

I tried hard, like many others, but could not get a ticket for the Ipswich game. But decided to fly over and go anyway and take in one last Goodison visit. Meet mates, do the pubs, walk around, get nostalgic and emotional. But I never gave up hope, I was positive, and guess what? Saturday morning a mate of a mate can't go, and I get a ticket. Second half was "poor", as you all know, but the rest of the day and night was ace. Visited many old haunts, sadly not the Boy's Pen...
PS. We missed Tarkowski and Doucoure.

Thanks mate. There was a moment when I glanced across at the Street End to where the Boys Pen used to be and I thought back. "Thanks" to my Bootle born Dad I have many memories of that place. Not all good, it was the original cage fighting venue

I learnt my craft on the streets and pitches of Bootle as well.
Honed on a fortnightly basis in the boys pen.
Funny enough, I never saw Blue Bill, he must have been one of the posh ones that kept our place warm until kick off time.

Not quite, the difference being that our Boys' Pen had, unlike Chester Zoo's, some truly wild creatures in it...

Getting to the front took a high skill set.

I only went in there once as a teenager with my mate who was skint offered to loan him the money to go in the Street end - awful view & glad to get out alive .....
