In what has been a horribly disappointing season so far, what positives have you been able to get from it? For me it has been the rise of Garbutt, the introduction of Aaron Lennon and the return of Gibson!

If im honest, not a single 1.

And im not just saying that for effect, its been a horrible season in my eyes.

a) Robles turning out to have some potential has been a welcome surprise.
b) Besic looks like he could be VERY good.
c) Lukaku proving to be worth the money

I cant take any positives from Besic, I knew how good he was and the fact that hes warming the bench means its very much a negative.

Nothing major.

Garbutt and Stones look good for the future. Lukaku knows how to score despite not playing his best football. That's it.

How refreshing it is to see a glass-half-full thread started.

Agree on Robles, Garbutt, Gibson and Lukaku, and that my unswerving belief of Osman's value to the team is being recognised as probably not as daft as some seemed to think.

I feel as let down as BMX front wheel that's run over a load of glass in the entry.

Now think back to how sad you'd be over this when you were 9. That's how I feel inside about this season.

So much potential, completely Everton'd.

I commend and admire your optimism though.

Stones has been sensational. I love watching him play. Garbutt too, but I'm trying not to think too much about his contract situation. It won't feel like a positive anymore if he doesn't sign and we lose a £15m player for nowt. Lukaku has the makings of a true Everton legend.

Best performance probably the 2-0 win at Wolfsburg, Lukaku and Miralles with an excellent goal and assist apiece.

We've learned a lot about our players - and our manager - good and bad, how they handle difficulty and disappointment. We know better now who we can rely on when the chips are down, and who's a waste of money. And you can look on that as a positive.
