Positive About Martinez

For real?

Jump back in the vaults and relive the apathy towards Moyes from the semi-final with the [Poor language removed] and onwards. Did you not watch the Wigan game, and virtually every away game we played? Sure, we loved him, but his final two seasons were on the whole like dentistry without anaesthetic.
Honestly not a wind up.....just dismayed at the amount of negativity towards RM at the minute.

I was a big supporter in the IMWT brigade since he was appointed.

But even I had to admit that it was time for him to move on. The negativity and bringing on Heitinga for Neville at DM when we were chasing a game was just too much for me.

Change was needed.

Its wages we can afford. There is a time and a place for Mcgeady. He can shoot. Plus not every team will be susceptible for pace or going outside to crosses.

You need different types of wingers.

I'm also not one of these that listens or thinks the "SELL SELL SELL" mentality is useful or appropriate. As some on here.

These sort don't understand football.

Its all about having different types of players and we lack a couple of wingers with pace who are good crossers of the ball.

Someone said this earlier in the week on the forum and I found myself nodding, I think it was @Khalekan that said we need to whip more balls into the box and create havoc. Inevitably, we'll get some goals out of that. We try too much in the final third in terms of possession and passing it around, giving the opponent time to get their defensive shape.

Nothing makes a defense more nervous and at risk than whipped in crosses and you need wingers to do that.

Probably the worst thing for me over the last couple of months is how comfortable teams have been against us. For years now we've been used to having teams pinned back against the Gwladys Street when we're chasing a goal. That feeling that we're inevitability going to create a chance and score has been missing.

Whip a few more crosses. Force more mistakes in the opposition. There's absolutely no shame in that.

There is nothing wrong with the odd punt (that's with a P) upfield.
