Especially if you can push the cost through a business, then a satellite phone is your best bet.

There's not much choice to be honest, they tend to be used by people who are either in an area outside a normal signal ( marine traffic for example ), or by people who need a nigh on 100% reliable signal, so, some emergency services and mission critical stuff.

Thuraya ( spelling ? ) do a satellite smartphone, but I don't know what speed their network works at. We have a client who uses the Iridium network, and, for remote or emergency internet use, they piggy back a standard smartphone onto a Wifi signal from an Iridium hotspot device. They ain't fast though, you'd be lucky to get .5Mb, but if you have a really desperate need to ensure connectivity at all times, then it'll do the job. Obviously if you just get peed off at not getting a 4G signal cos everyone else is doing the same thing, then it'd be massively over the top.
