It is not a glorification of war. It is not an indication of whose side you take. It is not a subject of mirth.
It should not be and was never intended to be a political football. Those who make a fuss about others decisions to wear a poppy or not do not speak for those who introduced it.
Leave the “I’m offended” brigade to it. If you want to wear one, do. If you don’t, then don’t. That should be the end of it.
