Pope Francis has ruffled the feathers of a few more Catholics in the media with his recent comments in support of evolution and apparent downplaying of god's divinity. I'm an atheist but I think Francis is pretty awesome. His views on homosexuality and other religions have been a courageous step forward in an otherwise stagnant institution.

But then I would say that, because I'm extremely left-wing on religious matters and have no sense of the Catholic perspective on the hot-button issues. I could see why more conservative catholics might view his comments as another attempt at the fast-track modernization of the Catholic Church, making it mainstream at all costs, regardless of long-held principles.

Any catholics (or otherwise)on GoT have any views on this? It's none of my business of course, but I'd love if anyone was willing to share their perspective.

And how many catholics are rioting on the streets screaming death to blasphemers and behead the unbelievers?

THIS is exactly what Im talking about. They have a right to be angry but as long as their is no violence then fair enough.
