"David Moyes says he will give Leighton Baines 'every chance' of being fit for Saturday"

I've got a sneaky feeling he could be fit. However, I don't want him being risked and getting injured after 5-10 mins. I'd rather have a fully fit Baines than one at risk of ending his season.

Thoughts?

Play Baines or save him for Spurs?

Don't think Moyes will risk him if there is any chance of aggravating the injury - he has been stung before, notably with Rodwell, so he must have learn't the lesson. Surely?

Within my ignorance I'd have thought that a strain is the type of injury that can be agravated. If that's the case, he shouldn't play unless 100% fit.

I wouldn't risk aggravating an injury. More chance of 3 points off Spurs, too.

Can wait for the Goodison game to see him make Maicon look foolish.

It wouldn't surprise me if Moyes risked starting him. I'm not even sure if Baines would be ready against Spurs. If he aggravates the injury he could have a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Give Oviedo a chance at left full, he has impressed in his last 2 outings.

We're OK at left back without Baines at the moment, Distin or Oviedo can fill in there and would do a good job so I'd save Baines until he's fully fit. If he doesn't play tomorrow I fully expect to see Distin there because I don't think Moyes will trust Oviedo or he might prefer having him play further up the pitch where his pace can hurt the opposition. If Distin does play at LB I hope to see Duffy come in at LCB because I rate him more than Heitinga at the moment and I reckon he fully deserves a chance at a run in the team although I doubt Moyes would have the balls to play a young CB away at the incumbent champions.

Thought Oviedo was one of our better players at Leeds (which isnt a great achievement) he had no cover from Gueye that day! i'd play him if Baines isn't fit. We bought him for LB cover, so play him there, Distin & Jags are getting a much better understanding, keep working on that and dont mix it up!

I doubt very much will consider playing Oviedo at left back, it will be Distin. Oviedo looks far too weak for the premiership at the moment and I've just got a horrible picture of Dzeko peeling onto the back post and getting free headers on Kolorov's crosses all game.

Oviedo's future looks in midfield in my opinion.

I think Moyes knows Baines won't be fit to play. It's a mind game to make City prepare for Baines but end up facing Distin or Oviedo.

Oviedo looks intelligent and a team player. Baines will not be missed that much. We can focus on other areas tomorrow. Moyes has a plan, and I hope we win 2-3. if we win 2-3 I will be very happy.

Disappojnted that Moyes has noted other teams have not attacked Man City. Who cares. Lets attack them. Let's get a lead, a 2-0 lead and keep attacking. Come on Everton. I love you. I love you so much. Come on Everton!!!!!!
