Probably mentioned this before so apologies, but my favourite Goodison memory was a game which even topped Bayern Munich for me,October 1978,the "Andy King" derby, the footage on youtube shows the place,Gwladys Street in particular rocking but only captures about ten percent of what it was actually like on that day, it was a Goodison of the old times, what your dad/grandad may have told you what it was like in the 1960's,it was just a "wow" moment,Bayern meant a lot more and was unbelievable but if I had a Goodison game to take to my grave, this would be it.

I was right in line with that shot behind the goal,yeah over the two games we were quite unlucky to lose to what was taking my royal blue specs for a mo,was the best side in Europe at the time,thankfully we made it back to Wembley,if we hadn't,who knows if things may have disintegrated?

..I think the Wembley game was the Hanson handball. A few weeks later I was playing in London and we had the same referee (Robinson). I asked him about the Hanson incident and he wasn’t happy, he said he couldn’t give what he didn’t see.

Never went the bayern game

That Southampton game was great,I was on the front row of the Upper Gwladys in line with the centre spot,I always remember the steam rising for the Gwladdy below it was that chocker,the place went ballistic when O'Keefe lashed in the winner

Was a great win,I was a nipper myself,I remember being made up we had held them to a 0-0 down at the Dell,they were a top team,Shilton,Mills,Keegan,Worthington etc, back then.

The Gosling derby cup game at Goodison, that was as near to the roof coming off the old place as I have witnessed, I was right behind lard arse shandy Andy when his cross was whipped in.
For years my screensaver was Carragher picking the ball out of the net in this game.if it wasn't him it was his spitting image......,

Watched it on sky in my bedroom after being in hospital for weeks. I’ll never ever forget that night, lived in spitting distance of the ground.
