Right lads and ladies. Need someone with a technical know-how to help me here because it’s doing my head in. Basically I have got guitar hero for my PS3. I want to set up the vocals on it but I am having a little trouble with it.

I have a pair of turtle beach P11 which are the wired ones. It is all plugged in correctly as far as I can tell and the sound does indeed come through them. However the microphone is playing up a little bit. When I change the input options to the headset, it works fine. The coloured bar picks up my voice no problem (perhaps a fraction of a second delay, not sure) but the headset works, it picks up my voice and its all fine.

Now when I go into the game this is where it gets weird. Basically the game recognises the headset as a microphone and allows me to play. However the microphone then does not pick up my voice at all. I have tried and it just doesn’t work. So I quit the game and go back into the audio menu and the mic is now not being picked back up again unless I deselect it and reselect it. This is in the accessories menu btw, not the audio settings so somewhat have found the right options at least.

So what is wrong and how do I fix it? It seems I can get it to work in the menu and as soon as the game starts it knocks it back off and stops working. No idea whats going on like, hopefully someone can advise?

Had a similar issue with mine a while back mate, have you gone into the accessories menu and selected the audio device from there?

OK, go into the audio settings again, and you want to look for the device listed as audio output gameplay, basically means that it stays connected when you come out of the menu and go back into the game, that connection keeps dropping, which is causing your problem.

I will try that thank you :)

Any joy Christopher?

If that doesn't work then go into the audio sub menu, then accessories, headset, set audio, set microphone volume and set to max. Once that's done go back out to the accessories, then headset and save device. One of those 2 things should sort it for you mate.

In work now but will try it with the drum set tonight lol (long story)

Will let you know if it works mate.

@Bungle

no luck so far. Go into mic options and the heat set is there. It recognised my voice and input and output both set to the turtle beach. Then go into audio settings and choose av connector as that is what it is. Tried multiple output option on and nothing. I know from trying in the past hdmi doesn't work either !

Really don't know what else to try

OK mate, take the HDMI plug out the back of your TV and plug the end that was in the ps3 into to TV and vice versa, then turn back on and wait until the main menu comes back up.

Once you've done that go back into audio settings and select mic output again and select the turtle beach headset again, then go into the game and hold x until the game menu screen comes on and that should sort it.

If not then I'm stuck mate.
