Playing great football and dominating the opposition for 90 minutes. When will it occur again?

When will we next play great football for 90 minutes (in PL) and dominate the opposition?

I think our signings this transfer window have been ok, but for me it somehow still feels we are mostly woefully light in all areas.

And thi made me think, when was the last time we had a team that played great football for 90 minutes and dominated the opposition? For me maybe, it was arsenal at home 2013? That's nine years ago.

When was the last time you thought it happened? And how long til it happens again?

Nailed on for The Derby

I’ve no idea how long it will take. I just want us to be normal crap this season. 16th or something, bit of improvement in the team with a couple of bright spots. Kick on again season after. We’ve messed up trying to hurry things and do quick fixes, let’s just steadily get more reliable and consistent and if there’s a nice surprise along the way or it all magically clicks sooner and without having to change manager again then fantastic.

Still two years out unless we sell a big piece to make some big buys. We don't have to do that, but we have decisions to make on Iwobi, DCL and Pickford, and they have decisions to make. The finances will permit patching the holes left behind by the loanees, adding a couple of attackers and rounding out the squad, because we have a lot of dead money coming off the books next season.

That's not enough to get all the way there, in terms of bossing the Sky 6 around. If we buy well, develop the new talent and have a nice, comfortable season, we can start talking about buying the rest of a young, hungry and talented squad that can take it to them. We would be an attractive destination in such a window, because anyone would be able to see that we're on the way up.
