Player Valuation: £225k
The players played better tonight as they know big sam is coming in on a perm contract.
They would've done the exact same 5 weeks ago if the club announced Unsworth has it for 2 years.

The fact that players get away with doing this just saddens me. It happens to every club as soon as they announce a new manager.

Modern football is garbage. We need a manager with ba**s to come out and make this point.

How can people like and enjoy this?

Maybe a waste of a thread but tbh, i dont care. The truth hurts.

Nothing to do with the fact that Unsworth picked the correct team for the correct (albeit horrifically bad) opposition?

Exactly right, they'll decide to put a shift in now to impress the new boss, until they get fed up of him in 6 months time and forget how to string a pass together, defend or score
It'll happen time and time again and tbh It's not just Everton.

I think its pretty sad even if it happens to Stoke or West Ham.
Can we stop it? Probably not but it would certainly be a good start if a manager come out and just slated the players. I'd love if Unsworth done that but he wont. just thought I'd get my frustration out.

Yeah, cheers Ste.

Bar a few, but they were on the bench last night anyway, I think most have been putting an effort in, just think they were set-up wrong and the tactics Koeman and Unsworth have been playing haven’t suited the players we have.

Last night we looked in control for the first time since I can remember really

Sam spoke to the players yesterday, he did the same envelope trick...but inside these brown envelopes was cash.

I know what is being said is right, players can and do stop playing. Chelsea being the most obvious of examples recently. However I am not sure this is the cause of our downfall. We have a squad that is completely unbalanced, we seem to change from week to week without any great direction.
I don't doubt the players are not fully committed to the cause but given what has happened over the last transfer window I can see why they might be a bit bemused as to what is being expected of them.
As I say, I am not convinced our problems are down to lack of effort I think it is more a lack of direction.
I am 100% opposed to Fat Sam being allowed into our club but he will provide direction, maybe not the direction I want to see but there will be a blind obedience to a system. I think we will loss good players who won't buy into his style and we will buy some work horses who will hang on his every word. We know Fat Sam likes a transfer fee.

Hopefully there's no way back for some of these spineless cowards come January, get the bad apples and over the hill players out as soon as possible. It's under 3 managers now some of them have downed tools and half assed it
